To you...from us!
We are starting a new tradition in our house to celebrate the finished work of Christ on the cross. Tomorrow, Good Friday, we're doing a Last Supper of sorts. Unleavened bread, wine, reading Scripture, prayer. Our own, private, family Lord's Supper. Our family has been praying and praying and we're trying to make a break from the paganism that surrounds Easter and remember what it's REALLY all about. All of the other stuff is fun for the little ones, but the true meaning of this important time is getting washed out of our society. It's hanging on by a thread for many. We don't want to be just hanging on, we want to fully engage in the Spirit during this time! So, however you celebrate Easter with your loved ones...

Good for you!
We undertook a short study of Easter....(A.K.A. What does our Lord and Savior have to do with a big fuzzy bunny and pastel plastic eggs).
I'd like to encourage you to search the ole' KJV for the only use of the word Easter. It is in Acts, but I don't recall exactly where. The word translated from the original tongue was "Pascha". Here is the crazy thing: everywhere else in the NT the word Pascha is translated "passover". There seems to have been some weird stuff going on around the time that the Romans got involved in the church....some of their pagan stuff was grafted in.
This year, we too will do what Paul said that he "must" do. We'll do what the early church, no doubt, did. We will celebrate the Paschal lamb..the ultimate Passover...the Lord's supper.
We're not exactly sure how we plan to do this. The beauty of it is that it is not in how we keep the feast, but that we keep it with the right spirit.
Don't click on the "salar" links from the first post. They are some kind of spam.
Great idea!
Happy Easter!
